Measure the distance to the ground from your manned or autonomous aircraft. Topo mapping or other applications require a laser sensor that is reliable and range to long distances. Fog or even dust does not create a problem for LTI sensors because of their target discrimination mode. In this mode the sensor performs a comparison and is able to distinguish the last target from all other reflections. This equates to dust or fog penetration and the ability of the sensor to "see" the landing surface.

Docking

Black ship hulls and water surfaces are no problem for LTI laser sensors. This makes them ideal for ship docking and water height measurement. For ship docking the lasers may be either permanently or semi-permanently mounted either on ship or on shore.

Being able to acquire accurate measurements to almost any type of surface will make vessel and shore based maneuvers a whole lot more manageable. Instantly know bridge gap values, water lock heights or any other measurement value you may need.

Height

Precise and reliable height measurements can certainly assist with a safe landing, especially through fog or airborne particulates generated from propellers or high winds.

The ability to measure varying terrain such as water or foliage ensure accurate and reliable readings. Update rates can be adjusted to gather more or less data points based on the speed of the craft. Serial interface connectivity allows for easy integration to other instruments for GPS coordinates and tilt data.
