Course Goal:
To provide training that will enable class participants to proficiently measure crash-crime scenes using technologically advanced equipment.
Course Objectives:
The students will be able to:
- Identify parts of the instrument along with their functions
- Correctly enter the necessary "set-up" information into the instrument
- Use the instrument to perform measurements
- Download a completed map into Crash Zone
- Complete scale diagrams from the downloaded information using Crash Zone
Methodologies:
This course employs lecture, discussion and multiple practical exercises.
Course Requirements:
Attendance is required at all class sessions.
Special Concerns:
Participants must bring their LTI equipment and laptop computers to class with them. If your laptop doesn’t have Crash Zone and DataPAC already installed, you must have departmental permission and the capabilities to download the software during class. Practical exercises will be conducted outdoors both during the day and at night, so arrange your schedule accordingly. Also, please
bring your traffic vest.
