LTI's QUICKMAP 3D NOW ON PALM ™

CENTENNIAL, Colo., September 1, 2003 - Laser Technology, Inc., the leading manufacturer of pulse-laser measuring devices and innovator of the first patented* system for accident reconstruction is announcing the release of QuickMap 3D ver. 4.0; a revised mapping program now available on a Palm™ handheld computer for both accident and crime scene investigations. This new version is simpler to use, offers more flexibility and transfers field data to a PC quicker and easier!

Accident/Crime scene mapping has never been easier because of QuickMap 3D's touch-screen activation, convenient drop down menus and visual icons that aid investigators through the process. As the investigator measures and records each point, the program will automatically update a graphical diagram right on the Palm™.

To offer more software flexibility in the field, the investigator can now add or remove any point from an existing line, curb or any feature already measured. It also provides the capability to re-classify a point if necessary. These two features are invaluable to an investigator because measurements can be verified and corrected right in the field, instead of having to revisit the scene after viewing inaccurate results in the office.

With Palm™ software's HotSync®, the investigator can simply download all the field data with one push of a button. Three different file formats are automatically created for easy data transfer into compatible diagram softwares. This step saves hours of time for the investigator in comparison to the conventional method of recreating the scene in a CAD program from hand-drawings on a clip board.

Over a thousand departments and investigators have made the transition to LTI's QuickMap System in the past 5 years. The conventional tape wheel and clipboard are becoming obsolete. The new state-of-the-art technology in 3-D laser mapping has already proven its value in time and cost savings. QuickMap 3D ver. 4.0 is easy to use, saves time in the field and office and offers highly versatile software capabilities unlike no other.

Laser Technology, Inc. manufactures and markets laser-based speed and distance measuring instruments, which utilize proprietary technology developed by the Company. Its products are sold worldwide and are used in a wide variety of applications, including traffic speed enforcement, natural resource management, GIS mapping, surveying, sporting/recreational activities, and industrial process control. The Company's headquarters and primary manufacturing facilities are located in Centennial, Colorado.
