LTI Historical Moment - The TruPulse 360.

Mike Phippen of Laser Technology recalls creating the TruPulse 360.

LTI is constantly striving to engineer laser measurement products that are unique and out front anticipating the needs of our customers. In 2007, we did just that...the TruPulse 360 didn’t come to fruition from air nor was it by accident. As always new ideas are put into practical use because we continually push the envelope! With a keen sense of purpose, we dissect and analyze problems our competitors won’t tackle. The challenge was to create an internal compass not affected by internal electronics or inclination of the device. This would allow the user to take measurements from any position or angle without degradation of accuracy.

We rolled up our collective sleeves and got right to it! The TruPulse 360 was actually based on our popular TruPulse 200 model but with some modifications. The 360 sports a 3-axis compass sensor integrated with a 3-axis tilt sensor. Wow, this baby can be tilted in any way and still produce reliable azimuth values from any angle. Right side up, upside down, sideways,--you name it, the TruPulse 360 can measure it from anywhere.

Simply put, LTI’s exclusive TruVector 360° Compass Technology not only provides users with accurate azimuth measurements, but will also tell the user when the compass needs to be re-calibrated. This feature has saved countless hours in the field preventing return trips to re-measure your project because the compass was out of calibration.

The TruPulse 360 has provided users more flexibility, safety, and efficiency while collecting data than any other portable device on the market. With the exception of locating next to a vehicle we offer the ultimate freedom to the user, you are no longer limited in where you can set up! Enjoy!
