Laser Technology's TruPulse 360 and Log Deck Volume Solution is the Answer!
The need for a better method to get accurate measurements on log decks at sawmills was brought to the attention of Laser Technology by John Calkins, a log scaler for Simpson Lumber Co., and as usual, our engineers stepped up to the plate and figured out a way to provide the tool to do just that! Using LTI's TruPulse 360 laser rangefinder along with the newly developed software - Log Deck Volume Solution - provides the accuracy that foresters or log yard managers need to get their job done quicker, safer and more accurately. No more pacing the length of a log deck or using a tape measure or a prism pole.
The TruPulse 360 provides the ability to get the measurements safer and faster and Log Deck Volume solution takes the data and calculates the board feet volume in a log deck. In Timberline Magazine's article, when asked about Laser Technology and the development of Log Deck, John states, "They heard me loud and clear," "They stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with this."
Throughout the years, LTI has proven over and over again to be the pioneer in laser measurement technology. The company's philosophy has always been to provide our customers with the tools and firmware they need to ensure their jobs are done not only cost-effectively, but accurately, safely and in the most efficient way possible. The creation of Log Deck Volume Solution was no different. "We developed the Log Deck Volume software because it can streamline the inventory process and even make it safer for our customers," said Steve Colburn, Laser Technology’s national sales director. "The results from our lasers and the software calculations are repeatable and will save a lot of time."
