The SAF National Convention was a great place for "field techies" to browse and see the latest in products for use in the forestry industry and it definitely didn't disappoint.
Laser Technology showed off an adaptor for the iPhone that connects to their TruPulse 360, enabling professionals to not only get the measurements needed while out in the field but also be able to take photos and videos of the objects that they measured. Steve Wilant, writer for The Forestry Source, had the benefit of a hands-on demonstration with Joe Cronn, LTI's western regional sales manager, at the convention and found out just how handy this new adaptor is going to be. After the demo, Steve states, "When Cronn demonstrated the paired hardware at the convention, I was impressed." "I can imagine lots of uses for this hardware combination in natural-resources management." See his full review at "An iPhone Paired with a Laser Rangefinder?"
