The TruCAM Laser Speed Enforcement Gun is Sweeping the Streets of Ukraine after "Black Friday" Incident

It was a sunny and prosperous day on the streets of Ukraine, until tragedy struck on July 20th, 2018. The day started out like any other, until speed and traffic accidents flooded the country. By the end of the day, a new term was coined for the extensive amount of traffic-related fatalities: Black Friday.

On July 20, around 5:00 AM near the village of Krivoye, a Lake Nikolaevskaya region, a Volkswagen Minibus containing passengers crashed into a truck. 5 died and 12 with severe injuries.

At 11:00 AM at the entrance to the village of Pribugskoe near Khmelnitsky, a head-on collision between an IVECO truck and VW Golf resulted in 3 deaths and 1 severe injury. More...

Distracted Driving is a huge topic of discussion nowadays and not just the law enforcement arena. It is something on the minds of all of us. Accidents with injuries and fatalities on roadways are rising all over the world and are attributed to be caused by drivers who are distracted.

The definition of distracted driving from Dictionary.com is "the practice of driving a motor vehicle while engaged in another activity, typically one that involved the use of a mobile phone of other electronic device." This can include everything from talking or texting on your phone, eating, drinking, fiddling around with your radio or navigational system, putting on makeup, reaching to pick something up and even reading a book! There it is, staring us all right in the face, and yet, distracted driving continues to rise to epidemic portions. Education is the key, keeping people informed to the staggering numbers that continue to increase showing just how dangerous it is to take your eyes off the road - even if 'just for a minute'.

During April - National Distracted Driving Awareness month - the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and the NHTSA are getting those facts and figures out there. A recent study conducted by the AAA found that nine out of 10 drivers believe distracted driving is an epidemic and more dangerous than aggressive driving, drugged driving or drunk driving. More...

Distracted Driving March Break Campaign Launched

Distracted Driving is dangerous and has caused many traffic accidents. The Ontario Provincial Police are reminding drivers in their area of the importance of keeping your eyes on the road with their launch of a traffic safety campaign just in time for March Break. OPP Supt. Tony Cristilli stated that the campaign is to assist in reducing the number of crashes and injuries that result from the inattention of drivers.

At the Toronoto OPP Detachment, Cristilli told reporters, "Distracted driving is a danger to all road users. We want to see everyone develop and maintain a complete intolerance for distracted driving and to make it socially unacceptable driving behaviour." More...

Leading Cause of Fatal Crashes: Distracted Driving

Put down those cell phones, don't reach for something in the next seat or turn your head to talk to the kids in the backseat; keep your eyes and attention to the road when you're driving. Distracted driving has once again continued to be the leading cause of fatal traffic accidents in the State of New Jersey. According to a State Police analysis of fatal crashes in 2016, that makes six years in a row.

This latest report, which was released January 2018, shows distracted driving was a factor in 217 out of 570 fatal crashes in 2016 in the state. The analysis also showed an increase of 40 traffic fatalities from 2015. While these are statistics for New Jersey, distracted driving is a huge problem all over the world. More...
