Focusing on three significant traffic safety issues: occupant protection, impaired driving, and speeding, the traffic safety awards program aims to encourage agencies to make substantial differences in the communities they serve.

Day two of the International Association of Chiefs of Police annual conference has already begun in Chicago, IL where Laser Technology, Inc. (LTI) has released some very exciting new products. Eric Miller, LTI's President, hosted a press conference at LTI's booth #4039 on Sunday at 11 AM (CT), the first day of the conference to reveal these new, much anticipated products. Indianapolis Police Crack Down on School Zone Speed Limits

30,000 Indianapolis students started their first day of classes on Monday morning and local police officers are cracking down on speeding in the school zones to keep them safe. According to Officer Chris Meyers, most drivers are not paying attention and tend to drive through the 25 MPH zones at around 30-32 MPH, ignoring the required speed limit. More...

Pennsylvania PD Demos LTI 20/20 TruCAM in Hopes of Reducing Following Too Closely (Tailgating) Incidences.

For 30 days, state police in Pennsylvania are testing LTI's LIDAR technology, the LTI 20/20 TruCAM, to enforce Aggressive Driving laws, specifically PA MVC 3310 also referred to as Following Too Closely or tailgating. Lt. Mark Green from East Pennsboro Township Police Department in PA announced that they would begin testing out the TruCAM all-in-one video laser with Distance Between Cars (DBC) technology at a press event in Harrisburg on July, 31 2015. Fox 43 Harrisburg, ABC 27 Harrisburg, CBS Harrisburg, and WGAL Harrisburg were some local news stations that attended the press event and interviewed Lt. Green and LTI about the LIDAR technology. Laser Technology Supports Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month

Motorcyclists accounted for 14 percent of all traffic fatalities in 2013, according to the recently released National Highway Traffic Safety Association statistics. With Motorcycle Safety Month coming to a close, Laser Technology, Inc., (LTI) would like to remind drivers of passenger vehicles to share the road with motorcyclists. At the same time, motorcyclists are encouraged to take the necessary steps to make themselves visible to drivers and to wear protective gear. The NHTSA estimates that helmets saved the lives of 1,630 riders in 2013 and that if all riders had worn helmets, an additional 715 lives could have been saved. More...

TISPOL Speeding Enforcement Marathon Issues Over 120,000 tickets in 24 hours

TISPOL, the European Traffic Police Network, held the first ever 24-hour speed enforcement marathon in early April. With 17 of the 22 participating countries so far providing data, there has been a whopping 122,581 speeding offences ticketed. German police issued the most with over 91,000 summons. More...

Speed Enforcement Campaign Launched in New England States

New England region's six states launched the first ever coordinated 'crackdown' on speeding and failure to wear seat belts in the area. Titled the "New England Drive to Save Lives" campaign, local and state police are targeting violators on Interstates 91 and 95 this week.
