From Impulse laser rangefinders to QuickMap 3D systems Laser Technology, Inc. has a good variety when it comes to technology choices for mapping crash scenes. Law enforcement agencies are finding that these laser systems are easy to use and set up, are affordable, and require minimal training.
An excerpt from the article, "Mapping choices abound as traffic and crashes mount" in the Law Enforcement Technology Magazine states that laser measuring devices are rising in the ranks. "Laser measuring devices, such as those offered through Centennial, Colorado-based Laser Technology Inc. (LTI), are increasingly being used for crash scenes. The LTI laser systems combine reflectorless laser technology and electronic data collection, are easy to use and set up, and require minimal training. Complete LTI mapping systems cost between $5,000 and $9,000, which, for many police agencies, makes them more affordable than total stations or spatial measurement systems."
With traffic on the rise on our highways, more and more accidents are occurring which means there has been a rising need for technology that assists in measuring these scenes efficiently and effectively. LTI's mapping systems are becoming more popular as for many police agencies have found, they are more affordable than total stations or spatial measurement systems.
