Officers at the Jefferson, Ohio Police Department recently received a monetary gift that enabled them to purchase an LTI 20/20 TruCAM, a top of the line video speed enforcement equipment manufactured by Laser Technology, Inc. Donation Purchases LTI 20/20 TruCAM

Many counties across the nation have similar programs that allow law enforcement agencies to seize criminal assets like vehicles, property, cash or any other items of value. Portions of the cash or proceeds from a sale of the seized items go into the LETF along with mandatory drug fines in the county court. These funds are ultimately used for community purposes like the purchase of traffic safety equipment.

The Ashtabula County LETF contributed $3,000 toward department's purchase of a TruCAM video laser speed device that was presented to Jefferson Police Chief David Wassie and Patrolman Joseph Ericksen.

The LTI 20/20 TruCAM is the most sophisticated speed enforcement tool available today. It is the only all-in-one handheld laser-based video and photo camera available possessing features like tamper-proof data encryption, multiple operation modes, anti-laser jammer, and encrypted storage of recorded violations. The TruCAM is used to enforce many different types of offences like tailgating, speeding and distracted driving with a high-resolution image that identifies vehicle make, model and license plate number.

Prosecutor Iarocci said he is proud his office was able to financially assist the Jefferson Police Department in the purchase. With its compact size, courtroom reliability and overall functionality, the TruCAM will be a great addition to the Jefferson, Ohio Police Department.
