Laser Technology, Inc. is a Colorado-based manufacturer devoted to the design and manufacture of innovative laser-based speed and distance measurement instruments. We provide laser measurement technologies to address real-world needs and applications, including speed enforcement, incident investigation, forestry, mining, utilities, surveying and industrial process control
We provide hardware and software solutions for specific applications that may be relevant to your job. Check out how our products can help you.
Laser Technology's core products are engineered with pulse-laser technology (a.k.a. reflectorless measurement technology) resulting in the ability to measure both distances and speeds. We also specialize in tilt and compass sensors, allowing you to measure heights and azimuth bearings. Our mission from the beginning has been to provide quality products through innovation and dedication.

The MapStar Angle Encoder calculates a turned horizontal angle that can be referenced to any desired point or direction. It works in conjunction with all our laser rangefinders for complete 3D position measurements with X, Y and Z coordinates. The modular design allows you to pivot the laser a full 90 degrees up or down while maintaining the rotary encoder level, providing the greatest possible accuracy. When tripod-mounted, you can obtain measurements accurate to 0.05 degrees. So when you encounter a situation where there is minimal room for error, LTI's Angle Encoder is an ideal tool outside of investing extensive time and money into owning and operating a total station. For increased versatility, the system's data output format is compatible with most field data collection software and even GPS. One of the major advantages to the MapStar Angle Encoder is that it is not affected by local magnetic interference. There are so many applications, like urban environments for example, where you may need to make 3 dimensional measurements but can't use an electronic compass because your surroundings could compromise your accuracy.
Note: The MapStar Angle Encoder has been discontinued. An alternative product for our customers is the MapStar TruAngle. Continued Support: LTI will provide warranty repairs on the MapStar Angle Encoder for one year from the date of purchase. The unit may be repaired or could be replaced with the MapStar TruAngle model. A replacement of the MapStar Angle Encoder would be because parts became unavailable. LTI is committed to supporting its world class products. We proudly will support our products for up to 5 years of the purchase date. While we will make every attempt to fufill this obligation, because of circumstances beyond our control such obsolescence of a part for a particular product, the serviceability of a product may not be possible for the full 5 years only in some rare cases.
