Everything You Need To Know About IACP 2019

Discovering the latest equipment, tech, and software solutions for the traffic and public safety markets is what makes the International Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference so memorable. This previous October, even with the frigid Chicago temperatures, was no exception.

Throughout the show, IACP exhibitors had one central focus: Solutions.

As budgets continuously tighten within the public safety markets, departments are having to do more with less, driving manufacturers to provide affordable data-driven solutions for community policing.

One of the highlights of the show was to see the lidar traffic enforcement unit, the LTI 20/20 TruVISION™: designed and manufactured by Laser Technology, Inc. (LTI), a Colorado based company.

The TruVISION laser gun enables law enforcement to capture speed and range with crystal-clear images of an infraction, freeing up officers from the cumbersome court system. Images and metadata taken from this unit provide authoritative evidence for traffic safety professionals, reducing an officer’s time spent in court to 'fight' a ticket, and more time in the field keeping their communities safe. Additionally, a department can integrate the LTI 20/20 TruVISION to their back-office system for a complete in-house solution, enabling departments with data-driven results.

In addition to high-end and budget-friendly solutions that offer reliability for law enforcement professionals, LTI is committed to corporate social responsibility. Each year, LTI hosts a fundraising event during the IACP conference week after show hours. This fundraising event focuses on the hosting city’s regional interest.

It was a heartwarming evening, and one of the top highlights of this year's IACP. LTI was able to raise over $10,000 for the Special Olympics of Illinois, following a powerful and moving speech of perseverance from Steve Katz, a Special Olympic Champion who has won three gold medals in powerlifting, and who also competes in gymnastics, basketball, track, volleyball, swimming, and softball.

LTI looks forward to next year’s IACP show in New Orleans, LA, October 17 – 20, 2020!
