Welcome to the first edition of Laser Technology's quarterly newsletter!

We have created our quarterly newsletter to provide an informational update regarding our company and divisions to our new, current and future customers. Each quarter, we hope to inspire you with engaging feature articles and updates that highlight how and where our products are being used and solving real world problems. We are proud of our long history of providing you cost and time saving products. Additionally, this is your e-newsletter, and we welcome your input.

Hello and Welcome to LTI's First Newsletter.

This year has been very busy, yet exciting so far. We hosted our annual sales meeting, reconstructed our ISO quality objectives and moved our headquarters to a brand new facility. There has also been a lot of focus on developing new products.

Our annual sales meeting was hugely successful as we learned valuable information about our target markets, dealer perspectives and requirements for future products. After diligently preparing for ISO audit, I am proud to report that we passed and remain an ISO certified organization.

We moved to our new facility in the middle of May of this year. It's a 47,000+ square foot building located at 6912 South Quentin Street in Centennial, CO. We believe this move will support our growth expectancy with more office space and a bigger manufacturing area.

My business travels this year have taken me as far as Africa, South America, and Asia. Meeting with our International dealers as well as existing and new customers, it has given me that much more insight as to what direction we need to take LTI in with regards to future product development and overall business processes.

I am very excited about launching our first official LTI quarterly newsletter and can't wait to release some exciting new products this year.

Laser Technology Inc Awarded TruPulse® 360 Compass Calibration Technique Patent

It has been years in the making but Laser Technology, Inc. (LTI) has been awarded a patent for the TruPulse® 360 compass calibration technique. Jeremy G. Dunne, LTI’s Chief Technology Officer and innovator behind most of LTI's products, came up with the Magnetic Sensor and Accelerometer Calibration Technique.

Laser Sensors for Tank Level Measurement. TruSense Image

For tank level applications, you have a myriad of choices to choose from. For example, weight and cable, ultrasonic, guided wave or thru air radar are some methods one could choose for tank level measurement. There are also load cells, strain gauge and of course laser measurement. Load cells and strain gauges measure mass where the other technologies measure volume. Implementing a mass measurement system typically has a few challenges such as high installation costs and is time intensive to complete.

Mass measurement installation is complicated because mass constants need to be established and sensor calibration to the vessel needs to be established. In addition, the accuracy of this technology is vulnerable to moisture content of the measured material as this may adversely affect the weight. Conversely, the concentrated beam of laser measurement allows the user to precisely aim and measure to a small area on the material at either short or long distances. For example, a laser beam is 6 inches in diameter on a target at a measuring distance of 150 feet.

This is simply not possible with other technologies that utilize phase shift measurement such as microwave, radar, and sound because of their large divergent characteristics. Laser measurement also outperforms mechanical measurement methods such as measuring rods or chains. This is important when considering return-on-investment and cost-of-ownership including installation, operation, and maintenance expense.

Laser Technology Announces Release of the S210 and S230 Laser Sensor Models

Laser Technology is excited to announce the release of the S210 and S230 industrial laser sensors as additions to the S Series laser line. These sensors continue to set the standard in industrial sensing by combining high accuracy, long range, and low cost, all within a small package size.

The new models utilize a visible alignment laser and offer serial RS232 and 4-20mA outputs. The S210 model also offers a selection of trigger outputs allowing the sensor to be used directly as an event trigger for cameras or other equipment. This means plug-and-play installation because not only can equipment be triggered directly but the sensor can easily be configured based on installation requirements. In addition to a 4-20mA output, the S230 model includes HART capability allowing the user freedom to communicate with the laser through 4-20 as well as through RS232 serial communication.

As part of the S Series family these sensors are designed for general purpose non-contact measurement in Industrial Plant Management and Automation, Vehicle Guidance, Security, Traffic Management and many other distance measuring and detection markets. From measuring grain levels in silos, to profiling vehicles in traffic, to triggering security cameras, LTI Industrial Laser Sensors offer accurate and reliable measurement solutions in a variety of applications.

Candie Watkins

Candie has been with LTI for 17 years. She mostly enjoys working at LTI because of the product line. "Customers love us because LTI helps make their jobs easier and saves lives." She enjoys the fact that she has worked in so many different areas in the past 17 years at LTI; from marketing/sales coordinator to inside sales manager, bid and contracts coordinator, to executive assistant. Working in all these areas has given her well-rounded experience as a whole with the company. She loves working with her boss Mr. Rogers, and working closely with IACP, and helping organize meetings all over the United States.

Cheri Lucero

Cheri has worked with Laser Technology, Inc. since 1998. She began in Inside Sales and continued that position for 8 1/2 years before getting promoted to Bids and Contracts in 2007. Cheri has been working as the Contract/Bids Coordinator for the past 5 1/2 years and has been very successful in this position winning many contracts. She enjoys working in this extremely competitive business for LTI. Cheri is passionate about her job and likes the challenge of securing state and local contracts for the Company. Cheri likes working with customers and supporting her fellow coworkers. She believes that being a team player is extremely important for success in any company.
